Picture book Creation
A workshop with Sara Gillingham — for writers and illustrators!
Learn the nuts and bolts of how a picture book is made from an art and design perspective! Writers and illustrators will gain insight into each step of the process — from pitch to thumbnails to sketches to final art to printing. Art director and designer Sara Gillingham will cover topics such as how publishers find and choose illustrators, the art direction and design process in publishing, and proofing and printing. Authors will learn all about what happens to their text once it's in a publisher's hands. Illustrators will learn what to expect once they’ve got a picture book deal.
